Where We Work
Our base is Garden City, and we regularly work in Mineola, Garden City Park, Garden City South and Hempstead. We also take jobs in Uniondale, East Meadow, Elmont, Valley Stream, Baldwin and communities across North Hempstead. The work is the same wherever you live: a cracked seam, a hole from a door handle, a sagging ceiling panel after a leak, or a full room of new board that needs hanging and finishing.
Each job starts the same way. We look at the damage, find the cause where we can see it, and explain what has to be cut out versus what can be patched. If you are filing a claim, you get dated photos of the wet or broken material before we remove it, plus a written estimate broken out by task. We do not act as your adjuster or promise what a policy will cover, but we can explain what documentation adjusters usually ask for.
What Shapes Drywall Work Around Here
- 01
Housing age
Much of the housing in this part of Nassau County went up before or just after World War II. Older homes often have plaster over wood or metal lath, and later additions use drywall, so one room can have both. Patching where the two meet takes a different approach: we shim the new board to the plaster's thickness and feather the joint wide so the transition does not show.
- 02
Weather and seasons
Sticky, damp summer air and the dry air from winter heating mean wood studs and joists soak up moisture for part of the year and give it back the rest. Each cycle moves the lumber slightly, which backs screws and nails out of the board, loosens joint tape along seams, and opens fine cracks at the corners of door and window openings. Winter storms and ice buildup at the eaves can also push water into top-floor ceilings, a common reason we open and replace soaked panels.
- 03
Water damage and insurance
Wet drywall loses strength and can grow mold on the paper facing if it stays damp. We check moisture with a meter, mark the affected area, and photograph it before cutting. Those photos and a line-item estimate give your insurer a clear record of what was damaged and why it had to come out.
- 04
Permits
Local villages and towns each run their own building department. Cosmetic patching and replacing damaged board usually needs no permit, while work that changes framing, wiring or room layout may. If your job looks like it crosses that line, we tell you up front and point you to the right office.

Tell Us What Happened to the Wall
Describe the damage and where it is, and we will explain whether it looks like a patch, a panel replacement or a larger repair. If an insurance claim is involved, we can walk you through the photos and estimate we provide.
